According to reports, Warner Bros. brings her worlds together again – this time for a Super Smash Bros-style fighting game. The rumor started on Reddit and has since been confirmed by GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb, who has his dirty mittens all over the place.
The only thing Grubb debunked was the claim that the game was in development by NetherRealm, the most famous studio for the game. Mortal combat series. It appears the rest of the report is accurate at the time of writing.
According to the leaker, the game is called Multiverse, and he sees characters from all over Warner Bros. ‘ IP libraries fight against each other.
Here’s a list of the characters that are apparently featured, likely with more to come when we get the official announcement:
- Shaggy (Scooby Doo)
- Gandalf (Lord of the Rings)
- Tom and Jerry
- Fred flinstone
- Mad Max
- Johnny Bravo

Multiverse is said to be born out of a meme where Shaggy takes on his “Ultra Instinct” form, transforming into an anime-style fighter with a fiery aura. Although it sounds absurd, the meme appeared in the opening title of Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms, an animated film from the publisher (thanks, VGC).
It also wouldn’t be the first time Warner Bros. has experimented with mixing their worlds. Lego Dimensions was built around this concept and saw Batman enter the world of Harry potter and the Lord of the Rings. Elsewhere there is Space Jam: a new legacy, which takes place inside a Warner Bros. server where its characters exist and intertwine.
