“W”, “Take it home!” ; Celtic fans react to Luca Connell’s loan debut

Well, it wasn’t a bad afternoon at all for Celtic man Luca Connell.

Connell, who had been on the sidelines of the Celtic team, joined Queens Park two days ago. The Irish youth international joined Bolton Wanderers in 2019 but was unable to make a significant breakthrough at the club.

Already, however, he is making an impact in Ligue 2 with the Mount Florida side. Against Stanraer today, Connell contributed an assist in a 3-0 victory for the Spiders [BBC], which look like good value for promotion. The Irishman was pushed into the first team shortly after his arrival and left the pitch after 74 minutes.

It’s a good sign for the former Bolton man. With limited opportunities at Celtic, the midfielder’s career had come to a standstill. The lack of official reserve team football means Ligue 2 should be a happy hunting ground for young Bhoys.
