Have you ever looked at a famous logo and thought to yourself, wonder what it would look like if it had a retro makeover? No, neither do we, but that hasn’t stopped an artist from giving all your favorite logos a stunning new vintage look.
Last year we covered the work of Rafael Serra, who reimagines iconic logos in retro designs. Since then, Serra has continued to produce even more magical makeovers, and we can’t get enough of them. If you want to try transforming some of your favorite logos, check out our guide on how to download Photoshop and start creating.
According to his website, Rafael Serra is a type designer and lettering artist. From Spotify to Guinness, Serra takes iconic elements of certain logos, like color palettes or shapes, and turns modern looks on their heads. The bright colors and innovative typefaces of his designs give new logos a mid-century feel.
Serra has garnered a lot of attention online with her designs, with users flooding her Instagram pages with compliments. One user commented on one of the designs (seen above), “Very 80s VHS”, and another replied on a Nike redesign (seen below), “Please man. Keep a little skill for the rest of us”. I love these drawings, and most of them are good enough to frame and hang on your wall. If all logos looked this good, I’d probably end up spending all my money in a few days. I’d love to see Serra take on other logos like, say, Converse – can you imagine how cool a new pair of high tops with one of Serra’s designs would be?
